Are you Team Mario or Team Ryan? 👀

A public dispute is unfolding between Mario Guzmán, better known as Mario Guzmán, and Ryan Bartholomew of Doja Global.

Mario says his genetics, including Sunset Sherbert and Gelato, were never transferred to or owned by the company he later worked with. He also says his current genetics and breeding work remain under Voice of the Plant Voice of the Plant.

A major turning point was 2023, when Mario says he entered a business relationship with Primetime, with promises of national expansion, an executive role, bonuses and a flagship LA store. After around 18 months, he says he was pushed out and eventually involved his legal team.

Ryan was publicly presented by Sherbinskis as “Head of Genetics.” Mario is now questioning Ryan’s cooperation with people Mario says had previously wronged him.

And one detail surprised me: according to Mario’s own statements, he does not currently own or control the Sherbinskis brand, despite how strongly the name is associated with him.

Meanwhile, the internet is already doing what it does best: memes, collages and jokes about Ryan “taking over” what Mario built. 😂

Mario also says the current Sherb × Doja products, including live resin joints and Quattro vapes, are not the reason the dispute started.

At the centre are genetics, business agreements, loyalty, commercial rights and control of a brand.

So… Team Mario or Team Ryan? 👇

European Medical Cannabis Is Consolidating

Curaleaf proposed acquisition of Aurora Cannabis Aurora Cannabis would be more than another major cannabis deal. It could be another clear signal that scale, infrastructure and control of the supply chain are becoming just as important as demand growth in Europe.

Curaleaf already has a strong German footprint through Four 20 Pharma, including EU-GMP/GDP capabilities and distribution infrastructure. Aurora brings additional EU-GMP capacity, its Canadian production assets and an expanding facility in Leuna, Germany.

Put those pieces together and the strategic logic is obvious: cultivation → EU-GMP → import → distribution → sales.

And Germany is showing why this matters.

🇩🇪 200+ tonnes of medical cannabis imported in 2025
📉 Median online flower price: €8.64 → €5.95/g
📦 Available products: 266 → 401

More supply. More products. Lower prices.

For patients and pharmacies, that can mean more choice and stronger price competition.

For producers, it means something very different: margin pressure.

The companies best positioned for the next phase of the European market may not simply be those producing the most cannabis, but those controlling more of the value chain and spreading their fixed costs across larger volumes.

Germany may be the starting point, but the same consolidation logic could increasingly play out across Poland, the UK, Portugal and other regulated European markets.

The real question is not whether European medical cannabis will grow.

It is who will still have healthy margins when it does.

What if one cannabinoid could help silence PTSD nightmares?

A new clinical study found that oral THC (dronabinol) eliminated nightmares in more than 1 in 3 PTSD patients. Many participants also reported better sleep and improvements in their symptoms.

For people living with PTSD, nightmares aren’t just bad dreams. They can affect sleep, recovery, daily life, and mental health.

This doesn’t mean cannabis is a cure. The study evaluated a pharmaceutical cannabinoid medicine under controlled clinical conditions, and more research is still needed.

But every high-quality clinical trial brings us one step closer to understanding where cannabinoid medicine can make a real difference.

The future of medical cannabis will be built on evidence, not opinions.

What do you think? Could cannabinoids become part of the future standard of care for PTSD?
