Mistakes were made. The GREY BLENDING wasn’t one of them. 😂🤎
Apparently being a hairdresser, grey blending specialist AND content creator requires more than the two hands I was born with. Who knew? 💀
But can we just appreciate this transformation?!
Because here’s something I wish more people understood…
GREY BLENDING DOESN’T HAVE TO MEAN GOING BLONDE!
Sometimes the secret to a beautiful, low-maintenance grey blend is putting DEPTH back into the hair, not constantly taking it out.
It’s about working WITH your natural grey, softening the contrast and creating a colour that grows out beautifully without chasing endless highlights.
Less bleach. More dimension. A smarter approach to embracing your natural grey. 🤎
And yes, I promise I do actually know how I achieved this. I just have absolutely no video evidence. 😂

“You CANNOT be miserable for 6 months of the year!”
Well… apparently I can. 😂😭
Tonight the clocks go back and I DREAD it. Dark evenings, shorter days… winter just isn’t for me!
Years ago, a client said those words to me and they’ve stuck ever since.
Turns out, she had a point. 🙄😂
Now I break winter into little milestones. The shortest day, longer days, then LIGHTER EVENINGS! ☀️
Cured my winter blues? NOPE.
Made them more bearable? 100%! ❤️
And that’s the thing about hairdressing. Sometimes our clients have no idea just how much they help us too. 🥹
Anyone else counting down to lighter evenings, or are you one of those weirdos who LOVES winter?! 😂
Send this to someone who needs reminding that brighter days are coming. ❤️
SAVE A BRUNETTE ‼️ Grey blending brunettes needs a different approach. 👇
For years we have been told add highlights as the Grey comes in and it will blend it… but this is NOT always the case.
Also - do you actually WANT to be blonde? Or did it suddenly happen and now you don’t know who’s looking back to you in the mirror. 🪞
Less really can be more when you’re grey blending, particularly grey blending brunette.
GREY BLENDING: ARE YOU PAYING FOR FOILS YOU DON’T ACTUALLY NEED? 👀💰
What if your grey blending didn’t need MORE highlights… but LESS?
Here’s what nobody talks about enough.
Grey blending isn’t always about adding more blonde. Sometimes, it’s about putting the depth BACK IN.
Strategically placed demi-permanent colour can soften contrast, break up existing highlights and create a much more natural blend with your grey.
And the best part? It could SAVE you money. 💰
Because not every appointment needs more foils, more lightener or hours in the salon.
Less lightening. Smarter colour placement. A plan that works with YOUR grey.
Grey blending isn’t about how much colour you put in. It’s about knowing where to put it.

MONEY MOTIVATED? ✅ ❌
Times have changed. And for many, grey blending isn’t just about embracing their natural grey or making life easier.
It’s becoming a financial decision.
Because let’s face it, who wants to be tied to a salon appointment every few weeks when the cost of simply existing is through the roof?
But here’s what I want you to understand…
Grey blending isn’t necessarily cheaper to achieve. It’s about creating something that’s more manageable to maintain.
Undoing years of colour takes time, planning and sometimes a few appointments.
The real question isn’t just “How much will this cost me today?”
It’s “What will my hair cost me to maintain over the next 12 months?”
And THAT is a conversation worth having.
So tell me honestly… is your interest in grey blending motivated by MONEY, MAINTENANCE or embracing your GREY? 👀

“You CAN’T grey blend with demi-permanent.”
SORRY, WHO SAID THAT?! 🍺😂
Because not every grey blending transformation needs endless highlights, bleach or a complete colour correction.
Sometimes, LESS really is MORE.
When my client first came to me in May 2025, she’d been having permanent hair colour every 8 weeks for years, leaving a harsh regrowth line against her natural grey hair.
She wanted a softer, low-maintenance grey transition without going blonde or compromising her hair health.
So we made a plan. 👇
Permanent to demi-permanent: To soften the regrowth and allow her natural grey to grow through.
TWO tiny babylight sessions: Strategically placed over 17 months to help blend the old permanent colour.
Now moving to a gloss/toner: As the remaining demi-permanent gradually fades, we’re letting her natural grey take centre stage.
And LOOK at her hair! Healthy, glossy and beautifully blended. 🤌
17 months. TWO babylight sessions. No unnecessary bleaching.
Because grey blending isn’t about how much blonde you can put into someone’s hair.
It’s about knowing how LITTLE you actually need to do.
Grey blending isn’t one technique. It’s a personalised colour journey. 🤎

STORY TIME. 👀 This was NOT your average grey blending appointment.
She had over 75% natural grey, a permanent colour band, compromised blonde and a regrowth line appearing every 3 weeks.
She wanted to stay blonde. Just without the constant battle with her roots.
At our first consultation, we discussed switching to demi-permanent to soften that contrast while protecting her already fragile hair.
But before her appointment with me, she had her colour done elsewhere.
Three weeks later, she arrived in my chair. And we had a whole new problem. 🫠
Dark demi-permanent roots. Multiple colour bands. Overprocessed blonde. Breakage. And orange, under-lifted sections.
Now here’s where colour correction gets interesting.
The answer wasn’t to throw more bleach at everything.
It was understanding exactly WHERE lightening was needed, WHERE artificial pigment needed shifting, and WHERE the hair needed leaving alone.
Using carefully placed Moroccanoil Blonde Voyage AirTouch foils and Rhapsody Clear, I worked to soften the unwanted depth, clean up existing blonde and create a more seamless result.
Because grey blending isn’t a technique. It’s a strategy.
And switching to demi-permanent doesn’t automatically mean you’re going to get a softer, lower-maintenance result.
The formulation, placement, existing colour and condition of the hair ALL matter.
💬 Hairdressers, have you ever inherited a colour correction that was far more complicated than it first appeared?

GREY BLEND GONE WRONG? 👀 PUT DOWN THE BLEACH. 🛑
I can’t believe I’m saying this… but sometimes MORE bleach isn’t the answer. 😂
Here’s something worth understanding. 👇
Permanent and demi-permanent colour don’t behave the same way in the hair. And when you’re correcting an unsuccessful grey blend, knowing what’s actually sitting in that hair can change EVERYTHING.
Sometimes the cleverest correction isn’t adding more lightness. It’s understanding the chemistry behind the colour you’re trying to shift.
And yes… permanent CLEAR might have a role to play. 👀
But it’s not a magic eraser, and it’s certainly not suitable for every head of hair.
Better colour starts with better understanding. Not another bucket of bleach. 🧪

Grey blending has a marketing problem. ✅
Somewhere along the way it started sounding like one specific service.
One specific look.
And usually… one very expensive appointment.
It isn’t.
Grey blending can mean keeping you brunette.
Showing more grey.
Disguising some of it.
Softening a regrowth line.
Coming to the salon less.
Spending less on maintenance.
And yes — sometimes it CAN mean a big, expensive colour correction.
But the question shouldn’t just be:
“How much does grey blending cost?”
It should be:
“What do I actually want my hair to do — and what can I realistically maintain?”
Because your lifestyle, your time AND your budget should be part of the colour plan from the beginning.
Not the awkward conversation at the end. 😅
Save this before your next colour consultation.
And if you want to understand your hair, your options and where your money is actually going…
