“Hi everyone! My name is Alexa, and I’m a licensed esthetician at Purple Sarah Day Spa!

I’ve always been interested in skincare, especially after learning more about my own skin. That experience inspired me to pursue esthetics and help others feel comfortable and confident in their own skin.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, being with my pets, trying new recipes, watching new shows or movies, and shopping.

I’m so excited to begin this new chapter at Purple Sarah Day Spa, meet all of you, and help make your visits relaxing and enjoyable while continuing to learn and grow in the beauty industry!”

Because You Deserve It!

After an interaction the other day with someone threatening to bad-mouth our business all over town if we charged them according to the cancellation policy they agreed to when booking, after they no-showed for their appointment, I felt it was time to revisit our policies. 💜

Here’s the thing about having policies: What’s the point of having them if we’re not going to enforce them?

How is it fair to waive a fee for one person but charge another? Of course, we understand that illnesses and genuine emergencies happen, and we absolutely make exceptions for those situations. But forgetting your appointment, turning off your reminders, or simply not showing up is not an emergency.

And more importantly, how is it fair to our staff?

When you don’t show up, that’s time our staff set aside specifically for YOU. Time they could have filled with another client. Time they were counting on for their income.

And while we’re on the subject, arguing with, yelling at, threatening, or being disrespectful to our front desk staff over a policy they are simply doing their job to enforce is NOT okay. They didn’t make the policy, and they don’t deserve to be treated poorly for following it. Quite frankly, it’s disrespectful to everyone who works here.

We are very clear and upfront about our policies before you book. They aren’t hidden, and they certainly aren’t unusual. In my 24 years in this industry, nearly every place I’ve worked has had similar policies.

You wouldn’t expect an airline to refund your missed flight because you forgot to show up. You wouldn’t expect a hotel to refund a missed reservation. Why should a small business and its employees be held to a different standard?

I stand firmly behind our policies, and my staff appreciate knowing that I have their backs.

We genuinely love and appreciate our clients, and the overwhelming majority respect our time and policies. But if you don’t agree with our policies or aren’t willing to follow them, we respectfully ask that you simply don’t book an appointment with us.

Our time matters. Our staff matter. And respect goes both ways. 💜

We’re excited to introduce Kayla, who has officially started her cosmetology apprenticeship with us!

As many of you know, we’re passionate about education and properly training the next generation of beauty professionals. We’re looking forward to helping Kayla develop her skills, build her confidence, and grow into a well-rounded cosmetologist.

Kayla brings a creative spirit, a love for the beauty industry, and a genuine passion for helping people feel their best. She’ll be learning alongside our experienced team as she works toward her cosmetology license.

You’ll be seeing more of her around the spa, so please help us make her feel welcome!

Hi everyone! My name is Kayla, and I’m currently completing my cosmetology apprenticeship here at Purple Sarah Day Spa while also working full-time as an LNA.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved doing hair and nails and helping others look and feel their best. I’ve always had a creative side, whether it’s drawing, painting, crocheting, knitting, or just about anything crafty!

My mom would probably say I was born to create. From making art to experimenting with my own hair (sometimes much to her dismay!), I’ve always loved expressing myself through creativity.

I’m excited to turn that lifelong passion into a career and continue learning and growing here at Purple Sarah Day Spa!
