Out with the dead weight, in with a whole new ERA! ✂️✨**

My girl came in READY for a change, and she knew we were going to be doing some cutting! 😂💖

She hadn’t been to a professional stylist since 2019 and had spent most of that time keeping her hair pulled back or tucked away in scarves. But this time, she was ready to explore her natural texture, try something different, and step into a whole new look!💫

One thing I loved about this consultation was that we weren’t just cutting hair to cut it. We had a VISION! ✨

We focused on removing the areas that needed the most attention, especially through the back and sides, while preserving as much length as possible on top to create that beautiful, full shape she wanted!💖

And when it came to styling, we wanted the best of BOTH worlds: **volume AND definition!** Because your curls don’t always have to be styled for maximum definition to look their best! Sometimes a fresh start isn’t about cutting everything off. It’s about creating a shape that allows you to see your hair differently and actually enjoy wearing it. 🥹🫶🏽

Okay but seriously whats stopping you from trying that haircut you’ve had saved in your camera roll? 😂✂️

Our curls were NEVER the limitation. The standard was. 💖

Now, a little disclaimer… I DO NOT do weddings! 🤣 But when one of my longtime clients asked me to be part of her special day, how could I say no?!

And a little fun fact about me: I actually LOVE creating updos and formal hairstyles! 🫶🏼So getting to tap into a different side of my skill set and create all these different looks was so much fun.✨ But you know what made this day even more beautiful? Seeing women from different generations, with different textures and curl patterns, all embracing their natural hair for such a special occasion. 🥹

Every woman had her own style, her own texture, and her own little moment to shine. And I absolutely LOVED that!💫 Just a bunch of beautiful curls, beautiful women, and a whole lot of love. 🫶🏽

Getting to teach alongside my friend Sammy Feldman work with our models, and share knowledge with a room full of amazing stylists was such a special experience!💖

One thing about me, I’m always going to advocate for realistic, intentional curl education. Because what works on one head of curls might look completely different on another, and learning to work with the hair in front of you is what it’s all about.✨

Even with the power outage, we made it happen! 😂 The transformations, the feedback, the connections, and all the love made this trip one to remember.

There’s so much more I’m looking at during a check-in than length retention.

I want to know: How does the hair feel? How is it responding to water? How is it responding to product? What does the scalp and buildup situation look like? How are the ends holding up? And most importantly — is the routine we created actually working for this client?✨🫶🏼

For her, the answer at 12 weeks was YES. 👏🏽

She went from washing about once a month and relying heavily on oils and products to consistently washing weekly, maintaining her hair between appointments, and finding styling options that fit her active lifestyle.

And the length retention? That was the bonus.🎯😉

This appointment wasn’t about starting over or changing everything again. It was about checking the progress, seeing how her hair responded to the changes we made, and deciding what we want to build on next.
