Let's talk about... SIDE OF THE FINGER TATTOOS.

In order to be a reputable and respected shop in our community, sometimes we have to tell our clients NO to uphold a higher moral standard.

We NEVER want our clients to walk away feeling like they didn't receive a good service from our staff, unfortunately side of the finger tattoos generally fall into that category.

Instead of making you feel bad we would rather take this opportunity to educate why we typically say no to this request from our artists. 🤚

They may look great fresh but very quickly that changes as they ALWAYS fall out and just look really bad no matter how well they're done. 💩

We would rather say... No that's not a good idea, let's do something else. 🙃 and educate you as to why it's not a good idea... (see images attached)

Rather than to just take your hard earned money and later regret it with our names attached to the final results. ☠️👎

Side-of-the-finger tattoos rarely heal or age the way fresh tattoos look on social media.

AI and social media have given the audience unrealistic expectations as fake images of finger tattoos that are absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to duplicate in reality has been an issue in 2026... (See images attached)

Because of how much we use our hands, the skin on the side of a finger behaves very differently during and after the healing process.

Why Side-of-Finger Tattoos Fade and Change???

• Rapid skin renewal: Hand skin sheds and regenerates much faster than skin on other parts of the body.
• Constant friction: Rubbing your fingers together, gripping objects, bending joints, and washing your hands wear the skin and ink down.
• Moisture and chemicals: Frequent handwashing, soaps, sanitizers, and daily chores break down pigment quickly.
• Thin skin over bone: There is very little fat or deep, stable tissue for the ink to grab onto, making it hard to place pigment at the exact right depth.

What the Healed Result Actually Looks Like

• Fading and softening: Fine-line or delicate tattoos on the side of the finger often heal into a light-to-dark grey color rather than a crisp, solid black.
• Ink drop-out (patchiness): It is very common for small sections of ink to fall out completely during healing, leaving gaps or faded spots.
• Blurring: Over time, lines can expand, blur, or break up due to the natural movement of the skin.
• Timeline: Most side-of-finger tattoos show noticeable fading within 6 to 12 months
