A resource for all things aesthetics! Providing education & tips to enhance your true beauty within. Everyone can have healthy, glowing skin!
Certified Physician Assistant & Licensed Master Medical Aesthetician. My name is Martha and I’m a board certified physician assistant and licensed master medical aesthetician. I stumbled upon the aesthetics after dealing with a lifetime of skin issues, which included grade 3-4 acne. Thanks to the hands of both a master aesthetician and dermatology physician assistant, my life (and self-confidence!) was forever changed! Through my own experience, I discovered the healing abilities these providers had to offer and how valuable a good medical provider and aesthetician are. With a motto of “pay it forward.” I focus on helping those who have not given up on their desire to have healthy, glowing and beautiful skin. Physician assistants and aestheticians are healers. My goal as a provider is not only to have you fall in love with your skin, but also be proud of it. On this page and blog, I hope to give you the good information, treatments, and advice you need to feel healthy and beautiful! After all, GOOD SKIN IS IN! The postings on this blog are my own opinions and thoughts based on research and real life application. I currently practice with Dr. Angela

🚨 ENDOMETRIOSIS IS MORE THAN JUST PAINFUL PERIODS.
And the research is giving us even more reasons to take it seriously. 👀
A 2025 study involving over 330,000 patients with endometriosis found they had approximately 2X the odds of an autoimmune disease diagnosis compared to those without endometriosis.
Conditions associated with endometriosis included:
🧬 Hashimoto’s thyroiditis
🧬 Rheumatoid arthritis
🧬 Lupus
🧬 Sjögren’s syndrome
Here’s what’s important: Endometriosis is a chronic inflammatory condition, but it is NOT currently classified as an autoimmune disease.
And while this study found an association, it does NOT prove that endometriosis causes autoimmune disorders.
💡 The takeaway? Endometriosis deserves to be taken seriously as more than just a reproductive health issue.
💬 Do you have endometriosis AND an autoimmune condition? I’d love to hear your experience.

It’s not always about adding volume. Sometimes, it’s about creating BALANCE. 💉✨
Lip filler + chin filler = a more harmonious profile.
By strategically enhancing the lips and chin, we can improve facial proportions, support the lower face, and create beautiful, natural-looking results.
The goal? Enhancement, not transformation. 🤍
Because great filler shouldn’t announce itself. It should simply complement what’s already there.
💬 Would you have guessed both the lips AND chin were treated?

If Botox and filler automatically ruin your face, explain this 13-year difference. 👀
“Botox and filler will ruin your face!” 👀💉
2012 ➡️ 2025
22 years old ➡️ 35 years old
13 years later, I’ve had Botox and filler… and guess what? I still look like ME. ✨
Let’s clear something up:
💉 Botox doesn’t have to mean frozen.
💋 Filler doesn’t have to mean overfilled.
✨ Natural-looking results ARE possible.
The secret? Proper technique, facial anatomy, conservative treatments, and knowing when to STOP.
As a PA-C with 13+ years in aesthetics, my philosophy has always been simple:
The best injectables enhance your features, not change your face.
Injectables aren’t risk-free, and they’re certainly not for everyone. But looking fake isn’t inevitable.
And choosing to age naturally? Equally beautiful. 🤍
Can we finally retire the idea that all injectables make you look fake? 🙏
What if estrogen plays a bigger role in your metabolic health than you realize? 👀🧬
We talk about estrogen for hot flashes, sleep, and mood… but what about insulin resistance?
A 2025 systematic review and meta-analysis involving 5,772 postmenopausal women across 17 randomized controlled trials found that menopausal hormone therapy significantly improved insulin resistance.
Even more interesting? Estrogen-only therapy showed greater improvements than combined estrogen-progestogen therapy in this analysis.
Why does this matter? Because insulin resistance plays an important role in metabolic health, especially as women transition through menopause.
⚠️ Important: This doesn’t mean estrogen is a weight-loss medication or that hormone therapy is appropriate for everyone. But it DOES mean we should be having more conversations about hormones and metabolic health.

🚩 “Hormone therapy causes breast cancer.”
If you’ve been told this, it’s time to look at what the research ACTUALLY says. 📚🔬
For decades, women have been taught to fear hormone therapy. But the science tells a much more nuanced story.
And some of these findings might surprise you. 👀
🔬 JAMA (2020): Estrogen-only therapy was associated with 22% lower breast cancer incidence and 40% lower mortality in women with a prior hysterectomy.
🔬 JNCI (2026): Estrogen-only therapy was associated with a 63% lower breast cancer risk among BRCA1/2 carriers.
🔬 JAMA Network Open (2026): No statistically significant increase in breast cancer risk with HRT among BRCA carriers after preventive o***y removal.
🔬 Breast Cancer Research and Treatment (2008): Breast cancer risk differed between micronized progesterone and synthetic progestins.
🔬 Lancet Oncology (2012): Estrogen-only therapy was associated with 23% lower breast cancer incidence in women with a prior hysterectomy.
🔬 JAMA Oncology (2024): Vaginal estrogen was not associated with increased breast cancer mortality among survivors.
🔬 International Journal of Cancer (2005): Breast cancer risk varied significantly by the type of progestogen used.
✨ Here’s the takeaway:
Not all hormone therapy is created equal - The formulation, dose, route, duration, and individual patient history ALL matter.
Some regimens increase breast cancer risk. Others have shown neutral or favorable associations in specific populations.
Women deserve informed decisions based on evidence, not blanket statements. 👏
